Decision making is a process in which potential outcomes are evaluated, and based on possible personal preferences or the preferences of people who would be affected by the decision, an option is selected. In all circumstances, both professionally and personally, decisions are constantly having to be made. Personally, I believe this core competency is really influenced by our other competencies in leadership. I believe decision making is highly important because it creates the final product and result of your project or goal.
In my current role, I often come across decision making in various levels or situations. Whether it involves staffing and scheduling, accountability conversations, or re-deploying/re-adjusting the floor plan, I am constantly making decisions that will support my customer and partner experience. I have also learned to but my own personal feelings aside in the workplace with involving decision making. Reminding myself of what truly is the purpose or the goal has really unlocked powerful and successful decision making results.

Project Leadership - Final Paper
The course OGL 321: Project Management allowed me focus on the application or execution of a variety of analytical tools in project management. I also was given the opportunity to practice identifying and committing to realistic project objectives, minimizing scope change and uncertainty, and making necessary trade-offs when managing a project. These mentioned opportunities really allowed me to make mindful decisions in my coursework objectives and in real-life. Attached, is my artifact from this course where I was allowed to reflect my personal experience and give advice to future students of this course.

Reflection
Throughout my entire Organizational Leadership program experience, I ran into various decision making opportunities. This course, specifically, allowed me to really challenge my decision making as a leader with the simulation activities. This allowed me to really fine tune my decisions with mindfulness of the "big picture" and think about what my results would be. These activities helped me master this skill. I felt myself build my assertiveness and confidence as I continued on with my courses also.
Now, I firmly believe my ability to making healthy and sound decision has excelled. I find myself more focused on the purpose of my decision and if it indeed aligns to the organization's mission and values. As a leader, making decisions often result with tough conversations or actions that may not be the most favorable in some eyes, but i have learned, even more so now, that I have to make the decision that aligns with company values and not my own personal thoughts.
