Team dynamics and collaboration is the inner working of team membership and they work together to perform an effective end result. This core competency is the most complex and is highly impacted by size of teams, generational gaps, communication styles, etc. Through the complexities, it is important that all team members have an understanding of roles and routines. They most also understand their purpose and have a shared goal.
Personally, my current role as a leader, team dynamics and collaboration is very important and is a necessity. Although I do not see my entire team daily, it is important that my communication resonates through all dayparts regardless of my physical presence. Being aware of my team's strengths and weakness and balancing their needs has allowed me to leader much more effectively.

Food Insecurity - San Antonio
OGL 343: Social Processes in Organizations definitely provided me my first true challenge with team dynamics and collaborations. My challenge was aligning with a team with multiple time zones and different personalities. The artifact I have presented to you was our team project that focused on food insecurity. We were given the task to present a research team of a sustainable and affordable option for the residents of San Antonio, Texas. Although the communication lacked at the start, we really rallied together and showed up very well as an end result.

Reflection
I firmly believe team dynamics and collaboration embodies what it means to be an effective leader. Throughout my journey in the Organizational Leadership program in ASU, I was reminded why it is important to be aware and mindful of my team dynamics. Furthermore, collaboration was highly focused. I was given two opportunities to practice this core competency. My experiences helped me understand that all teams with communicate and perform differently.
My course experience(s) helped me practice my leadership style in real-life situations at work and with my peers. The biggest takeaway was always to approach the situation on hand with a growth mindset and assume positive intent. What I am currently working on is balancing my empathy and remaining aligned with team expectations and accountability.
